WHAT I BELIEVE
I WAS 9 YEARS OLD THE LAST TIME THE DEMOCRATS HAD A LEGITIMATE ACCOMPLISHMENT…
…No Wonder Our Country Is So Broken
MONETARY POLICY
-
Our Debt is unsustainable
Trillions on blank checks for wars and beurocratic waste has led to an unsustainable debt crisis that must be adddressed.
-
prioritize at-home investment
The underinvestment from the federal government in Central Ohio is a visible failure of our representatives, who vote to send our money to wasteful programs that don’t touch Ohioans.
-
Real Wage Growth
Misaligned incentives prevent workers from realizing the gains made in worker productivity, leaving everyday people to bear the brunt of inflation.
The average household should see real wage growth.
Healthcare
-
Inefficient by Design
Healthcare lobbyists have ensured our system serves investors, not patients.
These systemic inefficiencies must be addressed by congress through legislation.
-
Improving Choice in care
We deserve a choice when it comes to Care, not just whatever an employer provides.
We should use existing federal funds to offer a public option, a baseline coverage that any Ohioan or Ohio Business can buy into.
-
An off-ramp to the affordable care act / Obamacare
It is time to move off of Obamacare and into a healthcare system that addresses the root causes the ACA failed to fix.
Ohio is positioned to lead the nation if we can combine our world class healthcare facilities with the cost savings of a public option.
Public Safety
-
Poor budgeting and funding streams
Federal funding for public safety initiatives is often tied to metrics (i.e. Number of Arrests) that don’t match the resources needed.
-
Overextended local law enforcement
We task police, an institution that deals with individual actors, to solve systemic problems, like homelessness.
Police deal with individuals. The legislature needs to fix the system.
-
Federal law enforcement's emphasis on non-violent crime
The federal government has spent over $1 Trillion on cannabis and drug enforcement while the national murder solve rate is barely 50%.
Federal funding should go towards public safety that actually protects Ohioans, not shaking them down for a plant.
Infrastructure
-
Invest in connecting ohio
Central Ohio is a growing logistics hub, and targeted multi-modal (road, rail, and air) investment is needed to continue this growth.
-
Fund Commuter Services
Improve funding for infrastructure and transportation services that reduce local commutes, improving worker earnings.
-
Remove Red Tape
Pointless red tape and administrative bloat delay projects and make many too costly to even start.
Culture + role of government
-
fundamental rights
Your right to privacy, to speak freely, to own a gun, be free from harassment, and be represented in government are some of your fundamental rights as an American.
Anybody telling you that you don’t need your rights is attempting to take them away.
-
Checks & Balances
Each branch of government has a role, and it’s bad for all of us when one branch tries to take control of the others.
-
Public-Private Cooperation
Legal, above-board cooperation with industry is how America gets things done. Not through illegal threats, intimidation, or kickbacks.
AI + Technology
-
Data and Privacy
Robust data controls must be in place to ensure
(a) companies are not collecting data they say they aren’t, and
(b) consumers have access to that data. -
On the Workforce
It is the government’s job to serve ensure societal needs are met as corporate cost cutting continues to change the landscape of the workforce.
-
Tax Implications
If businesses aren’t going to employ as many people, then they need to be taxed more, nationwide.
